Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Program
The primary purpose of the Bureau of Justice Assistance's prescription drug monitoring program is to enhance the capacity of regulatory and law enforcement agencies to collect and analyze controlled substance prescription data through a centralized database administered by an authorized state agency. States are eligible to apply for planning, implementation, or enhancement funding through the Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Discretionary Grant Program. The due date for applying for funding under this announcement is 8:00 p.m. e.t. on May 15, 2008.

Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (DCDG)
Sponsoring Agency: BJA
DCDG provides financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and American Indian tribal governments to develop and implement treatment drug courts that effectively integrate substance abuse treatment, mandatory drug testing, sanctions and incentives, and transitional services in a judicially supervised court setting with jurisdiction over nonviolent, substance-abusing offenders.

Drug Free Communities Support Program

The Drug Free Communities Support Program is designed to reduce substance abuse among youth; enable community coalitions to strengthen collaboration; enhance intergovernmental collaboration, cooperation, and coordination; enable communities to conduct data-driven, research-based prevention planning; and provide technical assistance, guidance, and financial support to communities.

Multiagency Course: Introduction to Basic Drug Intelligence Analysis
Sponsoring Agency: National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC)
The course provides an overview of counterdrug intelligence analysis, introduces students to basic analytical tools and techniques, and allows students to apply newly acquired skills to a "real world" scenario through a comprehensive final practical exercise. Federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel who are interested in the basic skills of intelligence analysis should attend. The course is open to law enforcement personnel only.
